Well-being in the community (June 2017)

Marie stayed for 2.5 weeks in June 2017. The objective was to increase the sense of well-being, belonging, and autonomy amongst members of the local community.

First initiative was to introduce Kundalini yoga to the community. She advertized and held a yoga session in a local park as part of the International Yoga Day.

Second initiative was volunteering for the local organization Petits Frères des Pauvres. Marie accompanied persons aged 70 and over to visit the organization's space for meals, music, as well as card games.

The tree square (May 2017)

Our very first arrival, Sebastian, stayed for 3 weeks in May 2017 and here's what he did.

  • Planned, procured materials for, assembled, and installed the tree square (the main objective)
  • Did research and assisted with replanting all indoors plants in order to eradicate the indoor gnat infestation in the apartment
  • Built a mini-box suitable for growing indoors plants

Overall it was a success. It was even more pleasant to see how enthusiatically the community stepped in: days after the box was in place, an unknown kind soul went ahead and planted flowers in it.
